6 months

happy half-birthday, darling nora!

wow... i remember thinking that "6 months" seemed SO far away just a few months ago.  how did we get here so fast?! the past 6 months have flown by and i look at you thinking, "where did my teeny tiny baby go?! when did you get so old?!" SO much has happened this past month, i don't even know where to begin!
you now officially weigh 13 pounds 14 ounces and are 26 inches long.  wow, big girl!

you are still sleeping through the night (a HUGE thank you!) and are getting MUCH better with your naps.  everyone said it would change over night and it sure did.  you started sleeping on your belly and you seem totally happy doing so.  sometimes i'll find you face down in the crib so we'll roll you just a bit so you can breathe :)

you started eating a bit of oatmeal on february 8th.  you take that oatmeal like it's your job.  you act like a little baby bird. we celebrated your half birthday with a little taste of sweet potatoes.  you seemed to question what this orange stuff was that we were putting in your mouth.  overall, you didn't seem to mind it.  you are still drinking 4-5 bottles with 6-7 ounces.

through tears, i finally packed up your 0-3 month clothes and washed all your 3-6 month outfits.  i am shocked that you fill them out so well.  you have shorter legs and a longer torso, so we have to roll the pants sometimes.

your favorites still include sophie, your play mat, and really anything you can get in your mouth.  you started grabbing hair, scarves, earrings, necklaces, ANYTHING and shoving it in your mouth.  still no teeth though, but lots and lots of drool and eating hands. we started giving you a little blankie for naps and bed and its so cute how you rub it on your face when you're tired.  i think it helps calm you before sleep.  i wonder if you'll be like your mama with a blankie?! (and yes, you can take it to college with you if you want to)

this month you have been on the MOVE! you are never okay with just sitting still.  you have to be able to see EVERYTHING around you.  you are scooting like crazy and attempting to get on all 4's to crawl.  we're still working on sitting up unassisted and you're almost there.  we packed up the swing and bouncer because you will NOT stay put in those anymore!  so long newborn stage, we're on to bigger and better things.  you also got your DOC Band on the 26th and seem to be tolerating it well so far.

this next month brings about some exciting things... starting real food, our first plane trip to sunny scottsdale, and full time at the baby-sitter's.

thank you nora, for being the happiest, sweetest, most loving and smiley baby.  we are so blessed to have you as our daughter!
with all our love,
mom & dad

hangin' with dad

good morning, darling!

every tuesday & friday you hang with dad instead of going to the sitter's house.  i have come to accept the fact that you are indeed, a daddy's girl.  every time you see him, you just light up in a way that melts his heart.  when he wakes you up in the morning you give him the biggest smile and kick your feet with genuine excitement.  every day daddy hangs with you he sends me pictures at work because he knows just how much i miss you.  here are some pictures from your days with dad.
